As of 2014, the average life expectancy among New Jersey residents was 80.9 years. Life expectancy among females (83.2 years) remains about 5 years greater than among males (78.5). Among New Jersey residents, life expectancy is highest among Asians (90 years), followed by Hispanics (84), Whites (81), and Blacks (77).

How Do We Compare With the U.S.?

Life expectancy among New Jersey residents is slightly greater than that of the nation as a whole.
